Mentoring & Outreach for NYC RHY Programs
Trauma‑informed creative groups for NYC shelters, drop‑ins, and schools—6–8 week series or one‑session workshops that build calm, voice, and connection through grounding, emotional awareness, trigger awareness with a personal calming plan (safety planning), lyric journaling, and gentle movement/sound.

What we offer
6–8 week “Songwriting for Healing” series for NYC teens and young adults (18–24), plus one‑session workshops and drop‑ins—in partnership with shelters, drop‑ins, and schools.
Core Practices
• Grounding • Emotional awareness • Trigger awareness + personal calming plan (safety planning) • Short calm practice • Lyric journaling • Gentle movement and sound for expressionCore practices (what this looks like)
• Grounding: Quick orienting to the room and body (feel your feet, notice 5 things you see/hear). • Emotional awareness: Name what you feel and how strong it is (0–10), no analysis needed. • Trigger awareness + personal calming plan (safety planning): Spot early signs and choose 1–2 steps that help; name who you’d tell. • Short calm practice: 2–3 minutes of breath/quiet‑mind; always optional with eyes open. • Lyric journaling: Write a few lines to a gentle prompt; sharing is optional. • Gentle movement and sound: Seated stretch/sway, light rhythm or humming; opt‑in only.Safety and access
All activities are optional with seated/no‑movement alternatives; no trauma disclosures required; we follow host site policies.
