What we offer

6–8 week “Songwriting for Healing” series for NYC teens and young adults (18–24), plus one‑session workshops and drop‑ins—in partnership with shelters, drop‑ins, and schools.

Core Practices

• Grounding
• Emotional awareness
• Trigger awareness + personal calming plan (safety planning)
• Short calm practice
• Lyric journaling
• Gentle movement and sound for expression

Core practices (what this looks like)

• Grounding: Quick orienting to the room and body (feel your feet, notice 5 things you see/hear).

• Emotional awareness: Name what you feel and how strong it is (0–10), no analysis needed.

• Trigger awareness + personal calming plan (safety planning): Spot early signs and choose 1–2 steps that help; name who you’d tell.

• Short calm practice: 2–3 minutes of breath/quiet‑mind; always optional with eyes open.

• Lyric journaling: Write a few lines to a gentle prompt; sharing is optional.

• Gentle movement and sound: Seated stretch/sway, light rhythm or humming; opt‑in only.

Safety and access

All activities are optional with seated/no‑movement alternatives; no trauma disclosures required; we follow host site policies.
